Flanders Fashion Makers is a clothing manufacturer where highly experienced specialist translates the concept & structure of ideas into a production project. They have supplied clothing’s from corporate companies like FYRA (Amsterdam) to high-end labels such as Dries Van Noten, Paul Smith, Scapa, etc.
How does a high-end clothing manufacturer supply in Upcycling: turning textile waste into high-quality garments?
Last week during the visit to Flanders Fashion Makers situated in Alken, Top-atelier’s team worked to find a solution to produce garments for Designers from Paule Josephe & La Gadoue.
The process included selecting, sorting, unstitching of received garments in the forms of a shirt, and reshaping of the garment.
Later to be processed in a highly advanced fabric cutting machine to perfect the patterns, making it easier/ minimize the time required to cut each shirt. This procedure helps designers from Top-atelier to save time in the cutting process which contributes to better supply management and increases the quality of the textiles.
It provides motivation to the designers to increase their productivity and adds time to flourish creativity and innovational techniques in their garment.
With a rapid increase in the clothing industry known as Fast fashion which is responsible for producing 10% of annual global carbon emissions which according to Worldbank.org Fashion industry’s greenhouse gas emission will surge more than 50% by 2030. It’s high time to find alternative solutions to reduce the mass, unethical production of clothing and look for alternatives that not only support the environment but also create a circular economy.
From the collaboration with Flanders Fashion Makers, Top-atelier is providing the Designers with a best solution for a profitable and scalable market to produce high-quality products in Belgium from the textile waste stream.
